Special edition newsletter: #TransRightsReadathon

How to support a good cause and get a free query critique!

Trans Rights Readathon

This special edition of the newsletter is a short one with an important message: I’m joining the Trans Rights Readathon, and instead of creating a fundraiser I am donating query critiques! If you are a querying writer who would like to support a good cause while getting feedback on your query letter, here’s how it works:

  • Donate $25 or more to a trans rights organization (here is a list from the Trans Rights Readathon organizers) between now and March 29

  • Send me proof of your donation (via social media dm or my contact form)

  • I’ll coordinate with you to give you feedback on your query!

If you want to participate in the readathon yourself, visit the event homepage to sign up! And if you don’t need a query critique but would like to support my fundraising efforts, you can donate a critique or just let me know that you donated so I can count your donation towards the total raised.

Book recommendations

Obviously I have to recommend some trans books since this edition is about the readathon!

Cute Mutants by SJ Whitby is a hilarious new adult superhero story with a nonbinary main character whose power is talking to inanimate objects. I read this one during the readathon last year and adored it!

Leech by Hiron Ennes is a gothic sci fi horror that’s one of the weirdest books I’ve read… and I mean that in the best way. I won’t say much about the plot because it’s one you have to experience, but it’s a fascinating and creepy read.

Thank you for supporting and sharing!

Happy reading,

Marina
